Midler fra Guldsmedens Legatfonde er hovedsageligt til ansøgning til værdigt trængende og til projekter. Her ydes særlig støtte til (1) Uddannelses-/studieophold, (2) Bogudgivelser, (3) Udstillinger og (4) Arbejdslegater. Derudover forvalter legatfonden også tre andre legater hhv. Jens Nicolai Berners Fond, Albecks Mindelegat og Heimbürgers Mindelegat.
