Schiller International University

Schiller International University lets you study Europe on your terms. Founded in 1964 as the first American multicampus university in Europe, it runs four connected campuses—Heidelberg, Madrid, Paris, and Tampa—with a single application and the option to move between locations each term. Degrees are taught entirely in English to a community representing 60+ nationalities. You earn U.S. credit from an institution accredited by ACCSC, with German recognition through evalag in Baden-Württemberg, so your semester abroad slots into familiar academic frameworks. In Heidelberg, you study in Bahnstadt, one of the world’s largest zero-emission passive-house districts. The campus sits within a modern, sustainable neighborhood yet you can walk to the Old Town and the Neckar, giving you quick switches between classes, cafés, and cobblestones. A Career Center on site helps you navigate Germany’s corporate corridor—healthcare, tech, finance, tourism—with Frankfurt’s global hub an easy train ride away. Heidelberg offers programs in International Business; International Relations & Diplomacy; Computer Science; Applied Mathematics & AI; Business Analytics; International Marketing; International Hospitality & Tourism Management, plus graduate options including an MBA, MA in IRD, and MS degrees in Data Science, Digital Marketing & E-commerce, Global Finance, and Sustainability Management. As a semester-abroad student, you take courses in U.S. credit hours (typically 3 credits per class, about 5 ECTS), all in English. Admission is rolling with an approximate two-week turnaround, and the semester fee is €4,000. If you want an American-style liberal-arts experience inside Europe—or to test more than one country in a single year—you can start in Heidelberg and, if you like, continue in Madrid or Paris the very next term.
